6th Annual Butch Shay Memorial postponed to August 1st
Officials with the ULTIMATE Heart of America Super Late Model Series have announced that the $5,000 to win 6th Annual Butch Shay Memorial at Richmond Raceway has been postponed to August 1. With the announcement that neighboring Florence Speedway will be hosting the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for a doubleheader on July 10 and 11, track and ULTIMATE officials felt it was in the best interest of teams and fans to postpone the 6th Annual ButchShay Memorial.
“It has been a tough for year for everyone and it will take cooperation among local tracks for us all to succeed,” said ULTIMATE Heart of America director Bill Lupinos, “We look forward to welcoming the fans and teams at Richmond Raceway on August 1.”
The Butch Shay Memorial will be co-sanctioned with the ULTIMATE Chew on This Jerky Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series and will mark the season opener for both tours. The winner of the Butch Shay Memorial will earn a provisional starting spot in the 33rd Annual Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial slated for August 21 and 22 at Richmond Raceway.
